Plot
The series spans four tumultuous decades during the conflict in Northern Ireland
The real-life Dolores Price was married to Irish actor Stephen Rea for two decades (1983-2003).
) – the same organization that Price was active in for many years
During that time, Rea appeared in the film for which she is perhaps best known in the United States: the 1992 romantic thriller The Crying Game.
The series clearly tries to strike a balance when examining this period
It is very surreal for someone from the North to watch such a quality television series set in this period.
The characters are superbly developed and acted throughout, particularly Dolours Price and Brendan Hughes, and the occasional touch of humor is very welcome and well-received
Of course, towards the end, the focus shifts to the missing, particularly Jean McConville and some former IRA volunteers, but the motivations and circumstances of those who joined the IRA are well-represented in the series.
Overall, this is a sometimes exciting but also thought-provoking film
I definitely thought it was worth setting aside a day to watch!
